My friend Tom held a birthday party for her daughter at Rumah Titian Kasih this evening. Its a shelter home for children of single mothers and orphans.

I thought that it is a very kind gesture - away from the normal celebrations with family and friends - share the joy with the not-so-fortunate. Tom had the people at KFC & Pizza Hut to bring over fried chicken, pizzas, garlic breads and potato wedges. They had games for the kids, and the loveable Pizza-Guy to amuse them.

It was a simple event, but the kids looked really happy. They might not have a lot going for them, no family, no real home but they are all smiling and having fun.

Jill and I were inspired to come back, insyaallah - when our company can afford it, we want to hold a small kenduri there for the kids.
