22 Ways to Become Spectacularly Inspirational

By Robin Sharma, author of the #1 bestseller “The Leader Who Had No Title

1. Do important work vs. merely offering opinions.

2. Lift people up vs. tear others down.

3. Use the words of leadership vs. the language of victimhood.

4. Don’t worry about getting the credit for getting things done.

5. Become part of the solution rather than part of the problem.

6. Take your health to a level called superfit.

7. Commit to mastery of your craft instead of accepting mediocrity in your work.

8. Associate with people whose lives you want to be living.

9. Study for an hour a day. Double your learning and you’ll triple your success.

10. Run your own race. “No one can possibly achieve real and lasting success by being a conformist,” wrote billionaire J. Paul Getty

11. Do something small yet scary every single day.

12. Lead Without a Title.

13. Focus on people’s strengths vs. obsessing around their weaknesses.

14. Remember that potential unused turns into pain. So dedicate yourself to expressing your best.

15. Smile more.

16. Listen more.

17. Read the autobiography of Nelson Mandela.

18. Reflect on the words of Eleanor Roosevelt who said: “Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people.”

19. Persist longer than the critics suggest you should.

20. Say “please” and “thank you”.

21. Love your loved ones.

22. Do work that matters.

Right Now

Credit: http://islamicthinking.tumblr.com/

Right now

`Someone is in profound pain, and a few months from now, they’ll be thriving like never before. They just can’t see it from where they’re at.

`Someone you haven’t met yet is already dreaming of adoring you.

`A farmer is looking at his organic crops and whispering, “nourish them.”

`Someone wants to kiss you, to hold you, to make tea for you.

`Someone is willing to lend you money, wants to know what your favourite food is, and treat you to a night out.

`Someone in your orbit has something immensely valuable to give you — for free.

`Something is being invented this year that will change how your generation lives, communicates, heals and passes on.

`Someone is sat doing dua for the Ummah. Others have mentioned you and me and others you know by name in their supplications and prayers.

`Millions of children are assuming that everything is amazing and will always be that way.

`Someone who is craving to be partnered, to be acknowledged, to ARRIVE, will get precisely what they want — and even more. And because that gift will be so fantastical in it’s reach and sweetness, it will quite magically alter their memory of angsty longing and render it all “So worth the wait.”

`Someone has recently cracked open their joyous, genuine nature because they did the hard work of hauling years of oppression off of their psyche.

`Someone just this second wished for world peace, in earnest.

`Someone is fighting the fight so that you don’t have to.

`Some civil servant is making sure that you get your mail, and your garbage is picked up, that the trains are running on time, and that you are generally safe.

`Someone is dedicating their days to protecting your civil liberties and clean drinking water.

`Someone is regaining their sanity. Someone is genuinely forgiving the seemingly unforgivable.

`Someone is curing the seemingly incurable.

`You. Me. Some. One. Now.

Think…

Do shukr for what we have, for truly Allah SWT is enough for us.

Please ....

People judge. Fullstop.

I have been judged so much this week. I just finished facilitating a series of brainstorming workshops at a government agency. Every session i meet a different group of people, and get judged over and over again. I just had to write about this.

my workshop venue this past week

When i run workshops/ seminars/ trainings, as soon as i stand there in front of the room, these 20 odd set of eyes looking at me - they judge! If you are older, have white hair, a male, huge tummy - they judge less. But me, i get more than my fair share, especially with the more 'senior' crowd. I can almost see the questions in their head, while they pretend to look attentive and listen.

Some who are more vocal cant wait to catch you during coffee break to validate their judgments. 'Puan anak berapa?' , and oh this one top it all last week ' Puan ni nampak awet muda tapi puan tak muda kan' hahahaha.

Once they get past the looks, they wonder if you are at all qualified to stand there. By lunch, they sit beside you and ask questions. "so, how long have you been doing this"...'oh, before this you kerja mana" "lama kerja kat situ". And the whole table goes quiet, listening attentively. In their heads, they are doing the math - yes, guessing my age. Once in a while, there will be the more forward ones, who goes -' how old are you' - which means they are thinking, you are too young to be telling us what to do.

Oh well.......... i dont think there's anything i can do about it.

However, i learn to judge people less with this experience. Perception can be so deceiving, so dont be too quick to judge. There is more to every person than what meets the eye.

UNDO

Have you ever done anything super-stooopid, and wishes you can hit the UNDO button, just like you do daily while working on your Word.doc?

I do that so often. Too bad life has no UNDO buttons.

We all know everything happens for a reason. Sometimes i wonder what could be the reasons for some of those stupid things i do...

Room Makeover

I have decided to give "anne's prelude" a new look and feel. Got tired of the whole boring black background, and decided on a fresher look and feel. Plus, hopefully this gives me the motivation to keep the blog alive. (ya, ya, i know....no updates)
Its still the same old me, that probably complaints too much on this blog of mine. Oh well, my blog is my refuge. I'm going to try my best not to let it die a slow and painful death - despite many fatalities i've seen as most bloggers i know have jumped to FB, Twitter, tumblr or just give up on it altogether.
So, if you are reading this, hope the makeover is easy on your eyes.

Tu Dia

Tunggu punya tunggu, doa, harap, berangan, suspens semua ada ....tetiba, tu dia jawapan yang masuk inbox semalam.

Dear Anne,

For your information, the evaluation panel has made the decision on the consultant and I am truly sorry to inform that you are not successful at this time. However, we will keep you in mind for future project, if any.

Thanks and regards,

......

Takpelah. 'You win some, you lose some'. Dah masuk 3 tahun kerja sendiri, dah belajar 'berhenti berharap' - tapi tipulah kalau cakap takde pasang sikit harapan. Projek yang fail ni agak besar, so berangan kalau dapat, kira best achievement for One HR (my co.) so far....anyway, takde rezeki. Bersyukur & fokus dulu projek2 tak berapa nak besar yg ada....;)

Menitik jugak air mata semalam, tapi hari ni dah ok. Jalan terus.

True Colors

Lagu untuk diri sendiri & semua kawan-kawan bloggers, yg macam saya, kadang-kadang sedih, kadang-kadang rasa diri ni kecik je. Smile, you are all beautiful people

Anyone kaki Glee kat sini? I am :)

Enjoy this.

You with the sad eyes
Don't be discouraged
Oh I realise
It's hard to take courage
In a world full of people
You can lose sight of it all
And darkness still inside you
Make you feel so small

But I see your true colors
Shinin' through
I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors; True colors are beautiful,
Like a rainbow.

Show me a smile then,
Don't be unhappy,
Can't remember when I last saw you laughing
If this world makes you crazy
And you've taken all you can bear
You call me up
Because you know I'll be there

And I see your true colors
Shining through
I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors,True colors, are beautiful,Like a rainbow

Can't remember when I last saw you laugh
If this world makes you crazy
You've taken all you can bear
You call me up
Because you know I'll be there

And I'll see your true colors
Shining through
I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors, true colors
I see your true colors are shining through I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors, true colors
Are beautiful,
Like a rainbow

What's New?

Hi.

Tapi memang betul pun. Mula2 postpone 28 Januari, lepas tu postpone ke April pulak. So, apa lagi.....habis plan kelam kabut.

The bad news is projek kita propose besar, tapi tahun ni Govt kurangkan peruntukan kebanyakan kementerian, jadi dapat projek kecik je dulu. Takpelah, ambik dulu.

Jadi sekarang, i have to start doing some work. Lain kali kita cerita lagi.

Oh lupa, kenal tak yg baju merah kat bawah tu?;-)

Reunion

I dont usually attend school or college or even university reunions. I find that most of the time, people hang out with those people you are already close and in touch with anyways. Anyway, that's just me.

However i dont really mind meeting up with old friends and acquaintences, small groups, have coffee, really talk and catch up.

Recently, thanks to the powers of Facebook, i came into contact with friends from primary school i havent seen since forever.
That's me. Sitting, 5th from left. (yg kecik tu, rambut tocang 2)
3 of us met up at KLCC in December, before the Christmas holidays. Ayu & Gee went to primary school with me, and we ended up in the same class up to Form 1, when both of them transferred schools to follow their parents.
It was nice catching up, they are all grown up and are successful career Mothers now - but i tell
you they look exactly the same.
