Just my luck...

Why is it that i always end up with work at the 'best' of times?

Masa orang tengah syok-syok holiday, masa tu lah i have things to rush.

What to do......

I have 2 major things to finish. Baru siap satu semalam.

One more to go!

No Sweet Dream

I woke up pretty early even before my 6.30 alarm went off.

I keep waking up and getting back to sleep with this weird dream. Very disturbing.

There was this guy - married! I dont know who he is. We are in a car together, and i was harrased. I keep pushing his hands away. Then i woke up.

When i went back to sleep, the dream continued...and i was planning an 'escape'. I was saved eventually. My aunty came into that dream, and i also ended up in a bus with my friend missqq wearing baju sekolah menengah.

Merepek betul....

Sound Check: UPDATED!!!!

Something is not right with my right ear since Satuday morning.

Tak tau kenapa....bukan sakit. Tapi ada bunyi-bunyi. Especially bila ada bunyi bising, music, tv....the sound will bounce back with ringing in my ears. Tak tau nak explain macam mana. Bunyi macam burung pun ada.

Kalau bawak kereta, kena off radio - if not, tak tahan.

Semalam i had to meet someone kat kopitiam in Subang Parade. Adussss, the noise from the kitchen, the crowd, the sudu garpu....tak tau nak explain bunyi-bunyi macam macam dalam telinga. Setiap sound akan ada pantulan semacam dalam telinga...sakit kepala.

Balik tido....pastu hilang pulak.

Scary jugak. Pelik jugak. Pernah jadi kat you all mcm ni?

I woke up this morning, and its happening again. Tapi not as bad as semalam.

Nak pegi jumpa Dr Razana la kejap lagi, she's my trusted GP kat kawasan rumah ni....hope its nothing too serious.

UPDATED

OK - dah pegi klinik.

Dr Razana cakap the outer ear, yg dia boleh tengok dgn teropong telinga tu...nothing wrong, takde infection, wound or anything.

So must be the koklea part...which tak nampak. So susah nak tau cause dia. So she can only treat symptomatically. I got flu medicine in case i have a virus that might infect the koklea, and anti-anxiety pills...to relax..in case stress in causing the koklea instability. Then see one week, if still ada kena refer ENT specialist.

The only good thing is i'm not hearing things that are not there. Ada satu penyakit ni where orang tu dengar bunyi burung ke, cengkerik ke all the time dalam telinga, tapi sebenarnya bunyi tu takde pun. The medical term is Tinnitus. Kalau kena yg ni, takde ubat. Scary tau.

Alhamdulillah, so far takde bunyi-bunyi lagi. I pray its gone for good.

Stories from Sibu Part 2

Lepas workshop ada la jalan-jalan sikit just to see Sibu town a bit.
The town mostly shoplots bangunan lama, kecuali some new office buildings and hotels yg high rise. Nothing much to see here. Nak shopping pun takde apa sangat. So i jalan2 je just explore the town on foot a bit. Yang dekat-dekat dgn hotel je la.

Ini pulak kat tepi-tepi Sg Rejang. Kotor la situ, color air bukan macam teh tarik dah, nescafe tarik kaw kaw punya....tapi busy sungai ni as mode of transportation...both orang and barang.

Check out pic kat bawah tu yg besar sikit. Cuba tengok yg 'pink color' tu...fikirlah sendiri ye apa benda yg ditransport jugak kat Sg Rejang tu.

hint hint...spot the oink oink

While waiting for my flight malam tu, ada la i ikut the training coordinators (also fr KL) jalan-jalan. Pagoda ni one of the famous landmarks kat Sibu. Posing je la dgn muka tak kuasa....

Jalan-jalan cari makan.
Dapatla rasa laksa sarawak (sedap rupanya..takde rasa ikan pun, rasa udang) and the next one is a chinese style noodle nama apa tak ingat (tak sedap pun)

Also Pasar Sibu. Banyak local produce kat sini. Murah la fruits and veg kat sini. I snap gambar yang pelik-pelik sikit je la.

yg hitam macam olives tu buah dabai. senang dapat kat Sibu je. Participants kursus ada yang beli bawak balik Kuching. Cerita diaorang, favourite la buah ni among locals, dan musimnya sekejap saja. I rasa sebijik, tak sedap...tak boleh nak habiskan. Rasa pelik...manis tak, pahit pun tak. tak tau nak describe.
yg green tu miden, i pernah makan kat Kuching once. Sedap...macam pucuk paku, boleh goreng belacan atau masak macam sayur biasa.
Fr left: Terubuk masin...(mahal kat sini compared to Kuching/Bintulu); Live chicken for sale...kesian kena ikat macam tu, tak boleh gerak; Durian hutan...i tak rasa but kawan yg rasa tu tak boleh nak telan.
That's all i can share. Lousy pics i know! - takde mood, just point and shoot. Lagipun orang pandang mcm pelik je bila nak ambik gambar;-)

Stories fr Sibu Part 1

The past one week blog ni macam almost dead kan. I dunno what got into me, i just wasnt in the mood for anything.

Back to stories from Sibu, the workshop i conducted is 80% sama dengan program kat KK dulu. Maybe sebab dah ada experience, this time i lebih cool & ada idea sikit what to expect. This is the first time i pergi Sibu. Again, i travel sorang saje dari KL and terus check in di RH Hotel, Sibu. This is the latest and the best Hotel in Sibu, i was told. Anyway, the ministry yang arrange semua....not my choice. Hotel best ke tak best ke, i terima aje.

Masa i check in the reception tengah discuss cari bilik yg dah siap....and i was given Room 425. I was lucky rasanya i patut dapat Deluxe room je yang ada 2 single beds. But i got this room with a king size bed. Ada lounge chair. Boleh guling-guling dari east to west pun tak jatuh katil ;-)..... TV channels pun best sebab ada astro ria, axn. movies and banyak lagi. Kalau masa KK dulu takde masa for TV. This time i relax sikit sempat la rest and watch tv a bit.

I was told, Sibu rata-rata penduduknya keturunan cina foochow (tak tau eja, sorry). Nak makan kena tengok betul-betul ye because banyak tempat tak halal. I checked in almost 3p.m., and walked to nearby shopping complex (luckily dekat dengan hotel...ada bridge lagi link hotel dgn mall) - order personal pan pizza sebab dah lapar sangat. Pizza Hut dgn KFC je yang halal. Lain tu was-was betul. Bawak balik hotel and makan (sambil guling-guling atas katil...hehe)

Masa kat KK i had 17 participants, kat sini 11 only. Itu pun after lunch first day, 2 orang had to leave for something in Putrajaya, tinggal 9. Not a problem for me. Berapa orang pun, jalan terus. But the group work could not develop as well as it should, sikit orang.

Most of the participants are flown in from Kuching. The balance are local from Sibu. Based on KK experience yang susah kena cakap dwi-bahasa because participants are more comfortable with BM....i pun dengan jayanya did the same in Sibu. Lepas sejam, the participants cakap...'Cik Anne (bukan nama sebenar), its ok you dont have to translate. We can understand. If we cant follow we will ask.' Malu & kelakar la pulak....ok la kalau dah cakap macam tu. Rupanya group ni ramai yg overseas educated. Patutla...

Nak dipendekkan story, lain tempat lain pengalaman eventho the program lebih kurang sama. The participants feedback were very good, which is encouraging. Personally, whatever yang i rasa kurang masa kat KK, i tried to improve this round. There is always room for improvement, kalau dapat peluang lagi, Insyaallah.

Participants ni semuanya educators - ada dari schools, ada dari state office. asal usulnya ramai yg cikgu. tapi dah naik pangkat la. I really admire their drive & commitment to do a lot for the education of children in this county. Bunyi macam cliche, but they are for real. When i am among them, i boleh lupakan saja about my fees ke, apa ke, tapi rasa blessed to get the opportunity to share what i know, and my experience, if that can help them do their job better. You should see how they are eager to learn and how committed they are to their profession.

Inspiring group of people.

(On a funnier note, best jugak boleh suruh-suruh cikgu-cikgu ikut arahan i buat itu ini....hehehe.imagine that... just kidding)

Orang East Malaysia sangat hospitable...sepanjang i buat trainings kat Semenanjung ni, tak pernah i dapat token dari participants. Kat Sibu, they gave me kain puakumbu...ala Sarawak handicraft tu- i'm sure you've seen before kan (takde gambar close up la). Kat KK dulu pun dapat kuih tradisional dengan a few souvenirs. Terima kasih la sangat-sangat sebab dia orang ni share-share duit dia orang sendiri.

Part 2 nanti kita jalan jalan pulak kat Sibu.
